Missed my chance, it landed in my hand and
I let it slip right through my finger tips
Timing was perfect, would've crossed the finish line
But I can't help but scrutinized before I take a single step
I fucked up, can I revisit the past?
I'll be less careful and be more careless
I'll just close my eyes and start leaping to save time
Things are bound to go right if I fly in head-first
I've wasted too much time planning my next move
I'm never punctual, I'm always too late
The past and the future is where I reside
I get lost before and/or after the moment
I should have taken that turn at Albuquerque
Can I retrace my steps and go back in time?

Day 13 -- back to back rhyme
Lovingly criticized.
I can see it in your eyes
How you think I just tell lies
You resent me, but use love as your disguise
Did you build me up to tear me down
Push me in the water to watch me drown
Once a trusted ally but what are you now?
Nothing to me, I won't keep you around.

How you think I just tell lies
You resent me, but use love as your disguise
Did you build me up to tear me down
Push me in the water to watch me drown
Once a trusted ally but what are you now?
Nothing to me, I won't keep you around.

Day 11 - P's
Passionate kisses
Pounding hearts
Playful banter
Praying that you are mine
Promises unfulfilled
Parting ways
Picking up the pieces
Pretending to be fine.

Day 09 - Addicted
If depression is a drug -- I'm addicted,
On my lows I get high the most,
Feeding off the pain that's self-inflicted,
Compulsively, I increase the dose.
Like a cannibal zombie, my brain deteriorates,
This toxic thought ruminates and sustains,
Too stupid to realize what it desecrates
Feasting on itself, until nothing remains.

Day 07
What to do when nothing feels right? Go the wrongest way?
---
Did you build me up just to watch me crumble?
You knew me the best and hurt me the worst.
You always knew just what to say,
To make fall apart again.

Day 03 - Now seems like a good time
Now seems like a good time
Can you read between the lines?
Do you understand what I'm saying?
It may be a bit cryptic
But you know what it means
Think back to the day I first said no
Fucking terrified of what's to come
It's only been a few days now
But I think I'm ready to try
Now seems like a good time
Ask me again, I've changed my mind.

One month writing challenge
What is it?
The challenge is to write once a day, everyday for the month of September. It can be in any form -- poem, prose, rant, journal entry or whatever.
Where did this idea come from?
Quite frankly, it came from my friend Adam, he likes to write. I, on the other hand, loathe writing but I can't seem to resist a challenge. My pride usually gets the best of me. So I am keeping this blog to show all the nonsensical prose, poems and what-not that are pretty much inappropriate anywhere else in my social media life. Enjoy.
